First images released of new railway station serving Filton Airfield and YTL Arena Complex

Network Rail and YTL Developments have released the first computer-generated images of the proposed new railway station at Brabazon, the mixed-use development being constructed on the site of the former Filton Airfield in north Bristol. Subject to approval, Network Rail is expected to begin construction in 2022.

Arena developer agrees to fund transport infrastructure improvements

More than £3.1m will be invested into improvements to the local transport infrastructure in north Bristol and South Gloucestershire as part of the plans for the YTL Arena Complex on the former Filton Airfield site. The money is intended to help support sustainable transport and drive down car dependency.

Filton research centre to play major role in hydrogen-powered plane project

An engineering centre of excellence located in Filton is to play a major role in a £54.4 million project to develop a liquid hydrogen propulsion system for regional aircraft that could eventually be scaled up to larger aircraft.
